Georgia is set to kick off its 2024 season with a high-profile matchup against Clemson on Saturday, August 31st, led by their quarterback, Carson Beck, who is poised for a standout season.
After spending a few years as a backup to Stetson Bennett, Beck was named the full-time starter last year and made the most of his opportunity. Although the Bulldogs fell short of making the College Football Playoff, Beck emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in college football.
Georgia received positive news last winter when Beck decided to return for another season instead of entering the NFL Draft.
With Beck potentially becoming the top pick in next year’s NFL Draft, Georgia will likely face a quarterback battle in the fall of 2025. One contender for that competition experienced a disappointing end to their senior high school football season.
Georgia Quarterback Commit Tears ACL
According to On3.com, Georgia’s four-star quarterback commit, Ryan Montgomery, will miss the remainder of his senior season due to a torn ACL.
Montgomery, hailing from Findlay, Ohio, is ranked as the ninth-best quarterback in the 2025 class according to 247sports.com.
The four-star quarterback shared his heartbreak on social media, announcing that he would miss his senior football season.
It’s unfortunate to see Montgomery miss his final high school football season due to injury, but hopefully, he makes a full recovery. He has a bright future ahead of him with many years of football still to come.
