SAD NEWS: Knicks Lose Another Top-Notch Fans Favorite Causing Serious Setback

Fournier, who spent the 2023-24 season split between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons, is reportedly set to earn a $2 million annual salary with Olympiacos.

Fournier made headlines last season after being benched by Knicks’ head coach Tom Thibodeau at the start of the season. He only appeared in three games for the Knicks, averaging 12.9 minutes per game and scoring a total of 12 points.

Before the trade deadline, Fournier was dealt to the Pistons, where he started to regain some of his form. He made 29 appearances off the bench, averaging 7.2 points per game.

At the end of the season, Detroit declined Fournier’s $19 million option, making him a free agent. While he was anticipated to draw interest from other NBA teams, the market didn’t unfold as the 31-year-old Frenchman had hoped, leading him to return to Europe.

Fournier last played in Europe in 2012 with the French team Poitiers. He was drafted 20th overall by the Denver Nuggets that same year and later played for the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics before his time with the Knicks and Pistons.
