BREAKING: Seahawks WR Makes Huge Claims About Patriots’ Drake Maye

Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Sam Howell, who is close friends with New England Patriots rookie Drake Maye, spent part of the summer working out with Maye and Seattle wide receiver Jake Bobo.

Bobo recently shared his thoughts with NESN’s Greg Dudek about what New England fans can expect from Maye, the third overall pick in this year’s draft. “From the start, you could tell he’s going to be a stud,” Bobo said. “He’s young, but the arm talent is evident. He’s also one of the smartest guys I’ve talked football with. He’s definitely impressive.”

Despite outperforming veteran Jacoby Brissett in preseason, Maye began this past Sunday’s season opener as a backup. Brissett played error-free football, leading the Patriots to a 16-10 upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

Bobo praised Maye for his approach to learning the NFL ropes while backing up Brissett. “It’s great for Drake to learn under a veteran like Jacoby. There’s so much involved in terms of scheme, game planning, and on-field play-calling that casual viewers don’t fully grasp.”

While New England’s Week 1 win alleviated some concerns about the team potentially “tanking” for future seasons, skeptics believe Maye could soon take over if Brissett’s performance falters.

Bobo also noted that Maye brings more than just physical talent to the table. “Personality-wise, I see him being a natural leader as a quarterback. Growing up in the Tom Brady era, he understands that being a quarterback is more than just making perfect throws. I’m confident he’ll be a great quarterback in this league.”

It’s unlikely Maye will see significant playing time in this Sunday’s game between the 1-0 Seahawks and 1-0 Patriots at Gillette Stadium, as long as Brissett remains healthy. Fans will need to be patient to see if Bobo’s positive assessment of Maye proves accurate.
