Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro pass rusher Maxx Crosby couldn’t hide his disappointment on Sunday afternoon.
After leading the NFL in quarterback pressures last season, defensive end Maxx Crosby was expected to make a significant impact for the Raiders again this year. However, his frustration was palpable following a surprising 36-22 loss to the previously winless Carolina Panthers, who were led by backup quarterback Andy Dalton. The defeat was especially tough for Crosby, as he also suffered an injury during the game.
Crosby managed just three total tackles before exiting the game, and he later disclosed that he sustained a high-ankle sprain.
“It’s a high ankle sprain,” he said to reporters. “It’s frustrating, but I’ll be okay. It’s unfortunate—I hurt it literally on the second-to-last play in Baltimore. It’s just part of the game. Every time I step on the field, I’m going to give it my all for my teammates, whether I’m at 100% or 50%.”
How Long Will Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro Maxx Crosby be Out?
Crosby’s determination to stay on the field is admirable, but it remains to be seen if he will miss any significant time. High-ankle sprains can sideline players for four to six weeks, which would be challenging for both Crosby and the Raiders as they aim to recover from Sunday’s tough loss. So far this season, he has recorded three sacks and 14 total tackles, showcasing his impact on the Raiders’ defense. Only time will reveal when he’ll be back to adding to his sack total while dealing with this injury.
