College football coaches often find themselves on the hot seat when their teams fail to meet expectations, a reality that comes with the job. On his show, the *Paul Finebaum Show*, Paul Finebaum suggested that Auburn Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze could be headed for that territory after the team’s 2-3 start to the season, despite being favored in each of their games. Finebaum pointed out that many believed Auburn had the potential to win all their games through September. However, given the team’s underwhelming performance and a tough schedule ahead, Finebaum now predicts another losing season for the Tigers, which could spell the end of Freeze’s tenure at Auburn.
“When you look at the schedule, you start to wonder if this isn’t shaping up to be another losing season under Hugh Freeze,” Finebaum remarked. “That would make two in a row, and I think you can guess what might happen if this is the case for Auburn.”
Auburn still has four ranked opponents left on the schedule. This weekend, they face the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs, followed by a BYE week before traveling to Missouri to face the No. 9 Tigers.
