According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to have interest in Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins if he becomes available near the trade deadline. Pittsburgh is already exploring the trade market for wide receivers and has reportedly shown interest in Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams.
“I expect the Steelers to be in on Davante Adams, along with DeAndre Hopkins if he becomes available, and I’m also curious about Christian Kirk in Jacksonville,” Graziano wrote.
These names come from struggling teams. Adams is likely to be traded, with the Raiders asking for a second-round pick, but his cap hits of over $36 million in the next two seasons complicate a potential deal. Adams reportedly prefers a trade to either the New York Jets or New Orleans Saints to reunite with one of his former quarterbacks, Derek Carr or Aaron Rodgers.
Hopkins, meanwhile, could be a strong fit for the Steelers. The former All-Pro, who signed a two-year contract with the Titans last offseason, has ten catches for 121 yards in Tennessee’s 1-3 start. Despite dealing with a knee injury this summer, he now appears healthy. Pittsburgh could likely acquire him for a late-round pick, and his physical playing style would complement George Pickens well.
