Brian Snitker, manager of the Atlanta Braves, is already looking ahead to the 2025 season despite the team’s early exit from the playoffs after a wild-card sweep by the San Diego Padres. After the disappointing conclusion to the season, Snitker expressed his eagerness to return to spring training, stating, “I wish spring training started tomorrow, quite honestly.” He emphasized his excitement about working with the team again and hopes to have all players healthy as they prepare for the next season.
Snitker, who signed a three-year contract extension after the Braves’ 101-win season in 2021, is set to lead the team through the 2025 season, a commitment he seems genuinely enthusiastic about as he turns 69 later this month.
The Braves faced significant challenges this season, with injuries plaguing many of their top players. All-Star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. and ace pitcher Spencer Strider both suffered season-ending injuries, with Acuña undergoing ACL surgery for the second time and Strider dealing with UCL surgery. Despite these setbacks, Snitker praised the team’s resilience, noting that they still managed to secure 89 wins.
Snitker highlighted the determination and positive attitude of his players throughout a difficult season, saying, “Just the tenacity, the drive, the consistency, the work ethic… nobody was ever, woe is me, and they weren’t griping about anything.” His belief in the team’s character and work ethic seems to strengthen his resolve as they prepare to regroup and tackle the upcoming season.
