The New York Knicks have signed Boo Buie to an Exhibit 10 contract, as announced by the team’s PR department on Twitter.
Buie, who was expected to sign a similar deal with the Suns after going undrafted in June, participated in five Summer League games for Phoenix, where he averaged 9.0 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 rebounds in 21.1 minutes per game.
Standing at 6’2”, Buie is a two-time All-Big Ten guard from Northwestern, where he accumulated 2,187 points over five seasons. In the 2023/24 season, he recorded career highs with 19.0 points per game on shooting splits of .438/.434/.858. He also averaged 5.0 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game across 34 appearances.
Exhibit 10 contracts are non-guaranteed but can potentially be converted into two-way contracts before the regular season begins. If Buie is waived by the Knicks and subsequently remains with their G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, for at least 60 days, he becomes eligible to earn a bonus of up to $77.5K.
