The Las Vegas Raiders may find themselves in the “not competing for a championship” category sooner than expected. After a tough 32-13 defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers, their record has dropped to 2-4. If they continue to lose, the Raiders could soon be turning their attention to the 2025 NFL Draft.
In light of this, accumulating draft picks becomes crucial when rebuilding through the draft. Sometimes, trading away star players is necessary to acquire that kind of capital.
Raiders Reject Massive Trade Package (Breaking)
According to Alex Hoegler of Total Pro Sports, as the November 5 trade deadline approaches, there’s speculation about whether teams like the Raiders, currently out of playoff contention, might consider offers for their top players. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that a major trade involving Maxx Crosby is not being considered at this time.
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Schefter stated that the Raiders wouldn’t entertain a trade for Crosby, even if it included multiple first-round picks. He mentioned that a team had previously inquired about Crosby’s availability, but the Raiders declined the approach:
“I believe earlier in the year, there might have been a team that asked the Raiders about Maxx Crosby and might have floated a one (first-round pick)…you start with multiple ones on that guy, and even then we wouldn’t entertain it.”
Schefter did not disclose which team reached out to the Raiders about Crosby, but it seems that despite their disappointing 2-4 start, GM Tom Telesco is focused on building around the three-time Pro Bowler.
