The Buffalo Bills’ 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans at Highmark Stadium may seem like an easy victory, but it was far from straightforward for Sean McDermott’s team. The offense struggled early, punting on its first three drives before finally managing a touchdown, though that momentum didn’t last, with two more punts closing out the first half. Josh Allen completed just four of 11 passes for 65 yards before the offense finally came alive in the second half, scoring 27 unanswered points to secure the comfortable win.
Despite the rough start, Josh Allen was pleased with how the team responded in the second half. “Yeah, not ideal to start the way we did,” Allen admitted. “Our defense kept us in it long enough for us to figure it out … we just found a way. It didn’t look like it was going to be pretty in the first half, but to win the way we did speaks a lot to the guys in that locker room.”
As Allen noted, starting the game the way they did wasn’t ideal, but at least the Bills managed to turn things around in the second half. However, against stronger opponents—like the Baltimore Ravens—such slow starts could prove costly. To make a deep postseason run, Sean McDermott, Allen, and offensive coordinator Joe Brady will need to figure out how to prevent these sluggish and sloppy beginnings. While Buffalo was able to recover this time, the focus now should be on avoiding the need for a second-half resurgence altogether.
