BREAKING: Giants Owner John Mara Makes Strong Statement Over Team’s Future

Giants owner John Mara has made a clear statement regarding the future of the team amid another disappointing season. Speaking at a screening of “The Duke: The Giants Life of Wellington Mara,” an NFL Films project, Mara expressed his continued support for head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, stating he does not plan to make any changes following the 2024 season. He acknowledged a need for more patience, citing past decisions.

The Giants, currently struggling with a 2-5 record, face the prospect of missing the playoffs for the seventh time in eight years. Despite the team’s struggles, Mara believes management is not to blame. Daboll, the fifth head coach since Tom Coughlin’s retirement, led the team to the playoffs in 2022 and earned NFL Coach of the Year. Schoen, who took over as GM in 2022, has had some setbacks but improved his standing with a strong 2024 draft and securing long-term deals for key players like Andrew Thomas and Dexter Lawrence.

However, the situation with quarterback Daniel Jones remains a concern. Jones, who received a four-year, $160 million extension before the 2023 season, continues to underperform. With Mara committed to retaining Daboll and Schoen, a change at quarterback could be the team’s next move.
