SAD NEWS: Alvin Kamara Gives Shock Injury Report

The New Orleans Saints have finally rewarded Alvin Kamara with a two-year extension worth $24.5 million, and he certainly deserves it. The veteran running back embodies what it means to be an elite player. In addition to his immense talent, he is a leader who consistently does things the right way.

Kamara’s toughness is also noteworthy. It’s well-known that he has been playing through broken ribs since Week 3, and while many have praised his resilience, he recently disclosed another significant injury.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Kamara revealed that he broke his hand in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Nevertheless, he has not missed any time and has no intention of doing so.

So far this season, he has recorded 111 carries for 438 yards and six touchdowns, along with 34 receptions for 252 yards and another touchdown.

Alvin Kamara says he’s been playing through a broken hand

Kamara has been listed on the injury report for his hand, but the severity of the injury was previously unknown. On the field, he continues to perform at a high level, running hard, making catches out of the backfield, and delivering crucial blocks in pass protection. He credits his physical therapist, Dr. Jose Tienda, for helping him manage his injuries and remain available for games.

While fans admire Kamara’s determination to play through these challenges, he remains humble about his contributions, stating that no player in the NFL is ever truly 100% healthy. He emphasized that as long as he can protect himself, he’ll continue to be on the field.

This mentality is a significant factor in how he has endeared himself to fans, and while everyone is thrilled to see him receive his well-deserved contract extension, there’s an underlying hope that he can maintain his health and continue to impact the team positively.
