The Tennessee Volunteers are in a prime position to flip 4-star running back Daune Morris from USC, where he committed to Lincoln Riley and the Trojans in April. Morris, a Tennessee native, recently attended Tennessee’s thrilling win over Kentucky at Neyland Stadium, where the electric atmosphere left a strong impression on the recruit. According to recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong, Morris is increasingly leaning towards the Vols, with Wiltfong even predicting a flip.
Morris is set to take an official visit to Knoxville on November 23, signaling his continued interest in Tennessee. The Vols’ recruiting staff, led by head coach Josh Heupel, has been making a strong push to keep Morris in-state. This development could be pivotal, especially given USC’s recent struggles, now sitting at 4-5 after a loss to Washington. With the Early Signing Period approaching, the timing of his visit may solidify Tennessee’s standing.
The 5’10”, 185-pound running back has drawn significant attention, amassing offers from over 30 schools, including notable programs like Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and South Carolina. While he’s already taken official visits to USC and Auburn, his upcoming visit to Tennessee could be decisive, positioning Heupel and the Vols as the favorites to secure Morris if he does decide to decommit from USC.
