GOOD NEWS: Knicks Get Groundbreaking News On key Injured Center

With a record of 8-6, the New York Knicks need all their players to reach their full potential this season, and Precious Achiuwa is a key part of that. However, he has yet to play this year due to a hamstring injury sustained during the preseason. That could change during the Knicks’ upcoming five-game stretch.

Knicks could finally get Precious Achiuwa back to revive abysmal bench

Kristian Winfield of The New York Daily News reported on Monday that Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau expects Precious Achiuwa to rejoin the team during their upcoming road trip, leaving the possibility open for his return to action (via Bolavip’s Ignacio Cairola).

The Knicks’ bench has struggled this season, ranking as the lowest-scoring second unit in the NBA with just 20.4 points per game. In contrast, 24 other teams are getting at least 30 points per game from their benches.

Achiuwa’s return could cause a Knicks surge

This highlights just how much the Knicks need Achiuwa back on the court. Last season, the Nigerian big man had his most impactful year yet, averaging 7.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game, while shooting 52.5% from the field. His contributions went beyond the box score; his ability to maintain offensive flow with his agility and skill at driving the ball will be a valuable asset for the Knicks upon his return.

Achiuwa’s first opportunity to rejoin the action will come Wednesday when the Knicks face the Suns in Phoenix in a primetime matchup. Their five-game stretch will conclude on November 29 against the Charlotte Hornets.
