The New York Giants’ 2024 season has been a disappointment, but one bright spot has been the emergence of Malik Nabers, the No. 6 overall pick. The rookie wide receiver has proven himself a standout talent, backed by impressive stats and a 10-game NFL record.
On Thanksgiving Day, Nabers recorded eight catches for 69 yards, bringing his season total to 75 receptions—an NFL rookie record for the first 10 games of a career. This surpasses the previous record of 71 catches, set by Odell Beckham Jr. with the Giants in 2014.
The top five are as follows:
75-year-old Malik Nabers
Beckham, Odell Jr., age 71
Brock Bowers, age 70
Nacua Puka 69
Barkley, Saquon 64
Beckham’s 12-game record of 91 catches is something Nabers might surpass.
Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams set the NFL rookie record for receptions last year with 105. Malik Nabers would need 31 more catches over the final five games—an average of 6.2 per game—to surpass that record. Given that he’s currently averaging 7.5 receptions per game, Nabers has a strong chance to break it, provided the Giants’ quarterback and offensive line play hold up.
Nabers is also closing in on the Giants’ single-season franchise record for receptions, which stands at 107, set by Steve Smith in 2009.
