APPROVED IN: Braves Officially Agrees $820,000 Bockbuster Deal

Connor Gillispie, a right-handed pitcher, has signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves. The deal includes a $820,000 salary for his time in the major leagues and $180,000 for time spent in the minors.

Gillispie, 27, made his major league debut with the Cleveland Guardians on August 4, 2024, and posted a solid 2.25 ERA in three relief appearances. However, he was designated for assignment by Cleveland on November 19 and became a free agent three days later.

A ninth-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2019 MLB Draft, Gillispie had a 5-7 record with a 4.05 ERA in 15 starts and 12 relief appearances for Triple-A Columbus in 2024. He had been selected by Cleveland in last year’s Rule 5 draft but now joins the Braves with the potential to provide depth in their pitching staff.
