GOOD NEWS: Virginia Tech gets massive commitment from 4-star WR over three other ACC schools

One area where Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff continue to shine is in recruiting. The Hokies have assembled strong classes over the past two cycles and are now shifting their focus to the Class of 2026.

Last June, Virginia Tech secured a commitment from Peyton Falzone, a four-star quarterback from Nazareth, Pa. However, Falzone de-committed just before Thanksgiving, representing a significant setback for the Hokies. Despite this loss, Pry rebounded on Thursday afternoon by landing a commitment for the next recruiting class, just one day ahead of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl matchup against Minnesota in Charlotte.

Virginia Tech picks up commitment from four-star Class of 026 WR

On Monday, during the Under Armour Next All-American Game televised on ESPN2, four-star wide receiver Carnell Warren from Bluffton, South Carolina, announced his commitment to Virginia Tech. As a junior this season, Warren showcased his talent with 59 receptions for 846 yards and 14 touchdowns. He chose Virginia Tech over three other ACC programs—Duke, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech.

“Virginia Tech is a really good school, and ever since I visited over the summer, I knew it was a place I wanted to play on Saturdays,” Warren said. “Everything about Virginia Tech—the coaching staff especially—was exactly what I was looking for. Coach Brent Pry and the assistants were honest with me about what I needed to do to succeed, and that’s something I value.”

This commitment marks a significant recruiting victory for Pry and the Hokies, as they outmaneuvered Manny Diaz at Duke, Brent Key at Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest, which recently underwent a coaching change. It’s a strong start to assembling the Class of 2026 in Blacksburg.
