SETBACK!!! The Tech Lose Another Highly Rated Experienced Star Due To…

The Bearcats bolstered their edge-rushing group on Sunday by securing Virginia Tech transfer C.J. McCray for his final year of eligibility.

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 251 pounds, McCray struggled for playing time in 2024, logging only 64 defensive snaps across six games and finishing with a 51.8 PFF grade. Over his four seasons with the Hokies, he accumulated 5.5 sacks on 675 defensive snaps.

McCray is the second edge rusher added by Cincinnati via the transfer portal this offseason, joining Old Dominion’s Jaylon White-McClain. Both will compete for top spots alongside Mikah Coleman, Marquaze Parker, and others, as the Bearcats strengthen their pass-rushing unit.
