The New York Rangers recently revealed their Quarter-Century Team, which might spark some debate. The team has boasted strong rosters throughout the years, featuring some of the greatest players in hockey history at Madison Square Garden.
Although many of the players included aren’t Hockey Hall of Famers just yet, they each hold a significant role in the franchise’s history. Below is the list of players for the Rangers’ Quarter-Century Team, along with their statistics from the past 25 years in New York.
Rangers rosters are filled with elite talent

The first-and second-teams are loaded with talent and some are on the brink of greatness
Igor Shesterkin is considered one of the top goalies in the NHL, while Kreider, Panarin, and Zibanejad are offensive powerhouses, and Fox ranks as one of the league’s top defensemen. These players are destined to be remembered as some of the best in Rangers’ history.
That said, predecessors like Jagr, Lundqvist, and Mark Messier have set a very high standard. Playing for New York is a significant honor, but players who can surpass expectations and lead the team to success earn a special place in the pantheon of hockey greats at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers have had some extraordinary teams, and being named to the first or second team over the last 25 years is a notable achievement. While none of these players captured a Stanley Cup during their time in New York, their contributions to the team were undeniable.
Lundqvist will be remembered as the franchise’s greatest goaltender, and his legacy extends beyond the ice. The same can be said for Kreider, Shesterkin, Panarin, and Jagr, all of whom gave their all in every game, leaving everything on the ice—just as it should be.
