AGREEMENT VERIFIED: Avalanche Now Officially Agrees To $19.95 Deal

DENVER (KKTV) – After six years of blackout, Nuggets and Avalanche fans are finally able to watch their teams again!

Thanks to a new agreement between Comcast and Altitude, Xfinity customers in Colorado and the surrounding areas can now access live games for both the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche.

“We are thrilled to once again make Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche games available on Comcast and Xfinity platforms in Colorado and the surrounding region,” said Josh Kroenke, Vice Chairman of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment. “This is the best possible outcome for Nuggets Nation and Avs Faithful, who now have a straightforward way to see every game on one service.”

The dispute began back in 2019 when an existing broadcast deal between Altitude and Comcast expired, leading to a lengthy conflict between the two. When an agreement couldn’t be reached, Comcast customers were unable to watch their favorite teams. Despite the blackout, both the Avalanche and Nuggets went on to win championships.

Fans can begin watching games again starting Tuesday night when the Avalanche face the Vancouver Canucks!

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE), which owns the Altitude Sports network, and Comcast announced that Altitude Sports will once again be available to Xfinity TV customers in Colorado, New Mexico, and parts of Arizona and Kansas. Xfinity customers can now access all live game broadcasts of the Denver Nuggets (NBA) and Colorado Avalanche (NHL), both teams owned by KSE.

“We are thrilled to once again make Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche games available on Comcast and Xfinity platforms in Colorado and the surrounding region,” said Josh Kroenke, Vice Chairman of KSE. “This is the best possible outcome for Nuggets Nation and Avs Faithful, who now have a straightforward way to see every game on one service.”

Where available, Altitude Sports will be accessible across multiple platforms, giving Xfinity customers various options for watching and subscribing to the network, whether on TV, online, or through mobile devices.

Starting today, Altitude is available on Xfinity channel 1250 in the Denver area as part of the Xfinity More Sports and Entertainment (MSE) video package. This add-on can be purchased by subscribers to Xfinity Sports & News, Popular TV, or Ultimate TV services. The price for MSE on TV will increase to $15.95, effective April 8.

“Xfinity delivers the sports and entertainment customers love,” said J.D. Keller, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Mountain West Region. “We’re excited to offer fans more ways to watch the world-champion Avalanche and Nuggets with this new agreement with Altitude.”

The channel lineup for Popular TV and Ultimate TV packages includes national networks like ABC, ESPN, and TNT, which carry select Nuggets and Avalanche games, ensuring that every game is available on one service.

“The real winners today are the fans,” said Mayor Mike Johnston. “In 20 years, we’ll tell our children and grandchildren about watching Nathan MacKinnon and Nikola Jokić in their primes. This agreement gives fans more ways to access games and ensures they won’t miss a second of the action. I’m grateful that Altitude and Comcast came together to make this deal happen. Their teamwork will benefit the fans, the players, and the city.”

Altitude Sports will continue to be available on its other current carriers. Additionally, a series of free over-the-air broadcasts of Nuggets and Avalanche games on 9NEWS and My20 will remain unaffected by the Comcast deal and will continue to be available on all Xfinity plans with local channels.
