Georgia football continues to target top talent in the 2026 recruiting class as they work to strengthen their No. 12-ranked class. With only five commitments so far, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs still have plenty of work ahead.
Fortunately, a highly regarded prospect has set an upcoming commitment date, and Georgia seems to be in a strong position to land him.
Jorden Edmonds, a four-star cornerback from Marietta, GA, is ranked as the No. 53 overall player in the country by 247Sports. He’s also the No. 5 corner in the 2026 class and the No. 4 player in Georgia.
According to Chad Simmons from On3, Edmonds will announce his commitment on February 19, his birthday, making the day extra special for him and his family. He will choose between five top programs: Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
While no official predictions have been made yet, Georgia fans have reason to feel optimistic as the commitment date approaches. On3 currently lists Alabama as the leader, with a 48.9 percent chance of landing Edmonds, while Georgia is not far behind with a 32.3 percent chance.
However, On3 projections aren’t always entirely accurate, so Georgia could still be the team to beat. Edmonds is from Georgia and recently visited Athens for Junior Day in mid-January, which bodes well for the Bulldogs.
As his commitment date nears, predictions from recruiting experts will likely emerge, and Georgia fans will soon learn how strong their chances are in this recruitment. Stay tuned for more updates as the process comes to a close.
