GOOD NEWS: Huge Boost, The Cubs Confirms Return Of Another Highly Experience Star

As MLB teams gather at their Spring Training camps in Florida and Arizona, fans will finally get long-awaited updates on key players. For the Chicago Cubs, one of the main focuses is second baseman Nico Hoerner, who underwent flexor tendon surgery in October.

“He’s not going to miss much time, if any,” Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday, per Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network.

A key figure in the Cubs’ middle infield for the past three seasons, Hoerner played a career-high 151 games in 2024. He has maintained an OPS+ above 100 each season since 2022, demonstrating consistent offensive production during his time in Chicago.

The 27-year-old posted a .273/.335/.373 slash line over 641 plate appearances last season while stealing 31 bases. He forms a solid duo up the middle alongside shortstop Dansby Swanson, who has also dealt with injuries.
