The Colorado Avalanche bolstered their roster on Saturday by acquiring forwards Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey, along with the rights to defensive prospect Hank Kempf, in a trade with the New York Rangers.
In exchange, the Rangers received forward Juuso Parssinen, defenseman Calvin de Haan, and conditional second- and fourth-round picks in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Lindgren and Vesey are both set to become unrestricted free agents at the end of the season, while Parssinen will enter restricted free agency. As part of the deal, the Rangers are retaining 50% of Lindgren’s $4.5 million salary, according to multiple reports.
Lindgren, 27, is having a career-best season with 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 54 games. Vesey, 31, has contributed six points (four goals, two assists) in 33 games.
Kempf, a 22-year-old defenseman from Cornell, has posted seven points (two goals, five assists) in 28 games this season.
On the Rangers’ side, Parssinen, 24, recorded six points (two goals, four assists) in 22 games for Colorado after being acquired from Nashville in December. Meanwhile, de Haan, 33, has seven assists through 44 games this season.
