The Philadelphia Eagles made a key move for 2025 with a recent signing and are also considering trading up in the draft. Meanwhile, Brandon Graham’s decision to retire appears to have been influenced by a conversation with Howie Roseman, according to ESPN.

Graham revealed that during his exit meeting with Roseman, held a week before free agency, he became certain about retiring.

“Howie said, ‘Man, this is such a fairy-tale ending for you,’” Graham recalled. “‘But I’m going to let you decide what you want to do.’ At that moment, I thought, ‘You know what? It’s over.’ I felt like my prayer had been answered, telling me it was time to retire.”

Eagles’ Brandon Graham saw the right timing

Graham played just 13 snaps in the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs, re-tearing his triceps during the game.

Despite the injury, his wife, Carlyne, said he remained unfazed.

“I saw it happen, and it looked exactly like it did the first time, but he didn’t even care,” she said. “He was like, ‘It is what it is. We’ll deal with it later. Right now, we won the Super Bowl. I got to play, even if just a few snaps. That’s all that matters.’ He really didn’t dwell on it.”

According to Carlyne, Graham’s positive attitude stemmed from his deep connection to the Eagles and Philadelphia.

“I told him, ‘You really put your body on the line for this city,’” she said. “He truly loves Philly. We don’t see you guys as just fans—we call you family because that’s what it feels like. They love him, and he loves them back.”

Graham spent his entire 15-year NFL career with the Eagles. One of his best seasons came in 2022, at age 34, when he recorded 11 sacks.
