The Philadelphia Eagles may have celebrated their Super Bowl 59 victory in February, but complacency hasn’t set in. General manager Howie Roseman has been busy reshaping the roster, and one player who could be on his way out is veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.
Goedert has been a reliable target in the Eagles’ passing attack, recording 42 receptions for 496 yards and two touchdowns in just 10 games last season. However, with his contract set to expire after the 2025 season, the team appears to be weighing its options rather than committing to an extension. Roseman is reportedly exploring trade possibilities but remained vague when addressing the situation.
“There’s no update. Obviously, Dallas has been a tremendous player and person for us,” Roseman said, via The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane. “The opportunities that we got into free agency with [tight ends] Harrison Bryant and Kylen Granson were just opportunities we felt were good for our football team. I know certainly that Dallas is a unique player. So really, that’s kind of where we’re standing.”
While no move has been finalized, the additions of Bryant and Granson suggest that Philadelphia is preparing for the possibility of moving on from Goedert.

Howie Roseman, Eagles still sorting through Dallas Goedert trade options
The Eagles find themselves in an interesting situation with Dallas Goedert. While they aren’t in a hurry to move on from him, they also have enough depth at tight end to make him less of a necessity than in previous seasons. So far, no trade has materialized, but that could change as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches.
If no deal is made, Goedert would play out the final year of his contract in Philadelphia before potentially leaving in free agency next offseason, which would leave the Eagles empty-handed. To avoid that scenario, Howie Roseman is expected to keep exploring trade opportunities as the offseason progresses.
