Sophomore guard has announced his decision to transfer, joining teammates Mekhi Mason and Wilhelm Breidenbach in the portal. With his departure, Washington’s men’s basketball roster is down to just Vazoumana Diallo and Franck Kepnang.
Harris, a 6-foot-8 guard once projected as an NBA first-round pick, had a promising start to the season but struggled with consistency. He averaged 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and led the team with 32 blocks while shooting 49.5% from three-point range. Despite improving mentally, he felt Washington’s offensive system limited his role and is looking for a team where he can be more involved.
Head coach Danny Sprinkle, who took over last year, faces another major roster rebuild after a tough 13-18 season in Washington’s Big Ten debut. The Huskies never found their rhythm and finished last in the conference. With multiple players transferring out, Sprinkle must once again reconstruct his roster.
The transfer portal closes on April 22.
