In a major development for Auburn football’s 2025 recruiting class, highly touted offensive line prospect Dalton Toothman has returned to the Plains for another visit — and this time, he’s making it clear just how serious he is about the Tigers.
Toothman, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive tackle out of Buford High School (GA), has quickly become one of the most sought-after linemen in the Southeast. Auburn has made him a priority target under head coach Hugh Freeze and offensive line coach Jake Thornton, and their efforts appear to be paying off.
“This place feels different,” Toothman told reporters following his visit. “I could see myself playing here. The coaches, the energy, the fans — everything just feels like home.”
This marks Toothman’s second visit to Auburn in the past two months, a strong sign of mutual interest. According to sources close to his recruitment, the Tigers have made a strong impression not only with their coaching staff’s vision but also with their recent strides in developing offensive linemen at the collegiate level.
Toothman is currently rated a four-star prospect by major recruiting outlets and holds offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, and Alabama, among others. While his recruitment is far from over, Auburn has positioned itself firmly in the mix.
“I’m not ready to make a final decision yet,” Toothman said. “But Auburn is definitely one of the top schools I’m looking at. It checks a lot of boxes for me.”
The Tigers have already landed a pair of offensive linemen in the 2025 cycle but are looking to secure a dominant tackle presence, and Toothman fits that mold perfectly. His athleticism, footwork, and physicality have drawn rave reviews from scouts, and his leadership qualities have made him a captain on and off the field.
With summer official visits looming, Auburn’s staff hopes to lock in an official from Toothman and continue building momentum.
“He’s a program-changer,” one Auburn staff member said. “Getting him would be huge.”
