The New York Rangers have signed Chris Drury to a multi-year contract extension, keeping him in place as President and General Manager.
MSG Sports Executive Chairman and CEO James L. Dolan praised Drury’s dedication and leadership, expressing confidence in his ability to guide the team forward despite falling short this past season.
Drury, who has led the Rangers since May 2021, called the extension an honor, citing his lifelong connection to the franchise and his commitment to building on their recent success.
Under his leadership, the Rangers have posted a 193-105-30 record over the last four seasons—the best four-year stretch in team history—and reached the playoffs three times, including two trips to the Eastern Conference Final. In 2023–24, they set franchise records with 55 wins and 114 points, earning the Presidents’ Trophy.
Before becoming GM, Drury held several roles within the organization and oversaw the AHL affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack. Internationally, he has helped lead Team USA in multiple IIHF tournaments and remains an influential figure with USA Hockey.
As a player, Drury enjoyed a successful 12-year NHL career, winning a Stanley Cup with Colorado, earning Rookie of the Year honors, and serving as Rangers captain. His accomplishments include Olympic medals, a standout college career at Boston University, and induction into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
