The Los Angeles Angels have cooled off after a strong 7-3 start to the 2025 season, dropping six of their last eight games to fall to an even 11-11. Their offense has struggled in particular, managing just 13 runs over their last seven games. While few expected the Angels to maintain their early momentum all season, the abrupt drop in performance has frustrated fans.
Now, the Angels face a tough stretch with a five-game road trip against the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners. But the challenge isn’t just on the field—players are also unhappy with the team’s travel schedule.
According to The Athletic’s Sam Blum, the Angels’ Thursday night game against the Pirates was scheduled for 6:29 p.m.—the latest time permitted under the collective bargaining agreement. That means players will board a late-night flight to Minnesota and arrive in the early hours, with little time to rest before their next game. Typically, teams opt for earlier getaways in such situations to allow for more recovery.

Star outfielder Mike Trout voiced his frustration: “It’s not ideal for sure. I don’t know when we’re supposed to land, but it’s going to be early. And we’ve got to play that night. And the worst part is, the next day is a day game.”
The Angels will have to play back-to-back late games against Pittsburgh before flying overnight to Minnesota, where they’ll face the Twins the following evening and then return for a 2:10 p.m. ET day game on Saturday—making for a grueling stretch of travel and play.
