The Duke Blue Devils recently wrapped up a strong college basketball season under head coach Jon Scheyer.
Scheyer guided Duke to an impressive 35-4 record, highlighted by an ACC Tournament championship and a Final Four appearance, where the Blue Devils’ run ended in a loss to Houston.
Duke showcased its dominance throughout the year with notable victories over Alabama, Arizona, Baylor, and Mount St. Mary’s.
Following his standout freshman campaign, star forward Cooper Flagg has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, marking the end of his impactful run in Durham.
Cooper Flagg left a major mark on the court, but Duke also highlighted his achievements off the hardwood. The university announced that Flagg earned a spot on the 2024–25 All-ACC Academic Team.

According to Duke’s official release, the honor is given to student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative GPA throughout their academic career, while also competing in at least half of their team’s games.
Flagg’s mother, Kelly Flagg, proudly celebrated her son’s academic recognition by sharing the news on her personal Instagram story.
Flagg was one of seven Duke players named to the All-ACC Academic Team, joined by Tyrese Proctor, Khaman Maluach, Kon Knueppel, Sion James, Mason Gillis, and Caleb Foster. Duke also noted that this year’s All-ACC Academic Team included a record-breaking 120 student-athletes—more than any previous year in conference history.
While Flagg’s academic achievement drew praise, his on-court performance was equally exceptional. The freshman sensation led the Blue Devils in all five major statistical categories, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
Flagg capped off his dominant freshman campaign by earning both the Naismith Player of the Year and the Wooden Award—cementing his place among college basketball’s elite.
