SAD NEWS: HUGE BLOW!!! Tennessee Gets Another Mind-Blowing News

The Tennessee Volunteers men’s basketball program, consistently strong under head coach Rick Barnes, is coming off another impressive season that saw them reach the Elite Eight before falling to national runner-up Houston. Along the way, the Vols notched wins over Wofford, UCLA, and Kentucky.

As the offseason began, Barnes turned his attention to rebuilding the roster. However, he also faced a significant loss off the court—assistant coach Rod Clark is leaving the program to join Darian DeVries’ staff at Indiana, according to On3’s Grant Ramey.

Clark, who joined Tennessee in 2021, has been a pivotal figure in recruiting, helping land key players like Dalton Knecht, Chaz Lanier, Zakai Zeigler, JP Estrella, and Tobe Awaka. At just 32 years old, he is already regarded as one of the top recruiters in college basketball. His departure is a notable blow to the Tennessee coaching staff.

He now joins first-year Indiana head coach Darian DeVries, who recently took over the Hoosiers after a successful run at Drake and a brief stop at West Virginia during the 2024–2025 season.
