HUGE BOOST: ECU Lands Another Highly Experienced Star From The Transfer Portal

 

East Carolina University (ECU) has bolstered its special teams unit with the addition of experienced punter Ryan Leavy, who has committed to the Pirates after transferring from Duke University. Leavy, a Tampa native, brings a wealth of collegiate experience to ECU’s roster.

A Proven Leg with Impressive Stats

Leavy began his collegiate career at Furman University, where he served as the starting punter for multiple seasons. Over 30 games, he averaged 40.4 yards per punt and registered 19 punts of 50+ yards. Notably, he achieved a career-long 70-yard punt against The Citadel in 2023. His consistent performance earned him a spot on the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll for four consecutive years.

In 2024, Leavy transferred to Duke University, where he provided depth to the Blue Devils’ punting unit. While at Duke, he continued to refine his skills and prepare for the next chapter in his collegiate career.
