CONGRATULATIONS: Six Years After His TV Wedding, MAFS’ Nic Jovanovic Marries Partner Alex Caldwell in Stunning Garden Ceremony

Former Married At First Sight groom Nic Jovanovic has finally tied the knot—for real this time. Six years after his reality TV wedding aired across Australia, the beloved star said “I do” again, this time to long-time partner Alex Caldwell, in a picturesque garden ceremony that was as heartfelt as it was stunning.

The couple exchanged vows over the weekend in an intimate celebration held at a private estate in New South Wales. Surrounded by close friends and family, the ceremony took place under a canopy of eucalyptus trees, with white roses and soft greenery providing a romantic backdrop for the outdoor affair.

Nic, 34, rose to national fame on season six of Married At First Sight in 2019, where he was paired with Cyrell Paule. While the TV experiment ultimately didn’t lead to lasting love, it did thrust Nic into the spotlight and earned him a devoted following. Since then, he’s kept a relatively low profile—until now.

Guests at Saturday’s wedding described the day as “joyful,” “genuine,” and “overflowing with love.” Nic wore a classic tailored navy suit with a black bow tie, while Alex stunned in an elegant ivory gown with delicate lace detailing and a sweeping train. The bride’s blonde hair was styled in soft waves, and she carried a bouquet of peonies, roses, and eucalyptus.

The ceremony was officiated by a close friend of the couple, who spoke about their journey—from meeting through mutual friends, to navigating life’s highs and lows together with unwavering support and kindness.

“Today is not the beginning of a new chapter,” the celebrant said. “It’s the celebration of a love that has already weathered storms, laughed through the chaos, and grown stronger with every passing year.”

Nic, a testicular cancer survivor, has been open in the past about his health struggles and personal growth. In a brief yet emotional speech at the reception, he paid tribute to Alex’s support during his toughest times.

“You’ve seen me at my lowest, and you stood by me,” he told his new wife, his voice cracking with emotion. “You’ve given me peace, purpose, and more happiness than I ever thought I’d find again.”

The reception was held under a marquee strung with fairy lights and filled with long banquet tables, rustic floral centerpieces, and candlelight. Guests dined on locally sourced cuisine and danced late into the night to a live band that included a surprise performance by one of Nic’s closest mates.

Several MAFS alumni were spotted among the guests, including fellow season six cast members Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant, who offered their heartfelt congratulations via Instagram. “What a beautiful day celebrating such a genuine, kind soul,” Jules captioned a photo with the newlyweds.

Despite the fairytale atmosphere, Nic and Alex reportedly kept the event grounded in personal meaning rather than spectacle. Their dog, Moose, served as ring bearer, trotting down the aisle to cheers from the crowd.

Fans of Nic have flooded social media with messages of support, noting how far he’s come since his reality TV debut. Many praised him for finding real love off-screen and for being a testament to the idea that patience and perseverance can lead to true happiness.

As the sun set and the stars came out, Nic and Alex shared their first dance as husband and wife to Ed Sheeran’s “Tenerife Sea,” a song they say marked the beginning of their romance.

For Nic Jovanovic, the second time at the altar wasn’t scripted—but it was everything he had hoped for.
