The supreme leader of Iran promises to retaliate if the United States attacks again.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, declared on Thursday that if Washington hits again, Iran will strike back at American bases. Mr. Khamenei said the attack on the U.S. military installation in Qatar is an example of what Washington may anticipate if it continues to attack Iran in his first televised remarks since Israel and Iran signed a ceasefire on Monday. America was slapped across the face by the Islamic Republic. One of the key American bases in the area was assaulted,” he claimed. The Islamic Republic’s ability to access key American facilities in the area and take action against them whenever it sees fit is not a minor episode; rather, it is a serious one that could happen again in the future.Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth attacked the media on Thursday, claiming that they cast doubt on the mission’s efficacy by using an early intelligence assessment of the U.S. bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites. During a news briefing at the Pentagon on Thursday morning, Mr. Hegseth stated that the current ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel was made possible by President Trump’s decision to conduct Operation Midnight Hammer, which he described as “the most complex and secretive military operation in history.” According to Mr. Hegseth, “President Trump decimated, obliterated, and destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities, creating the conditions to end the war.

In response to U.S. raids on three of Iran’s fortified enrichment sites, Iran launched the attack towards the end of the 12-day confrontation between Israel and Iran. The majority of the rockets fired at the Qatari site were neutralised by U.S. defences, and the attack was widely telegraphed. Earlier this week, President Trump even expressed gratitude to Iran for alerting U.S. officials to the strike prior to its execution. All sides of the battle have been able to declare triumph, however, thanks to the attack and the ceasefire that followed. Iran has pointed to its survival as proof of a successful defence, while Israel and the United States are certain that Iran’s enrichment facilities have been sufficiently damaged. It is yet unknown how strong the ceasefire between Israel and Iran will actually be. Israel and the United States may carry out additional strikes if Iran decides to update its nuclear programme and its enrichment facilities are recoverable.
