
Regarding the ‘Legends’ slot pay at Glastonbury, Rod Stewart made an unexpected admission.


Sir Rod was so thrilled to be invited back onto the Pyramid Stage in the lead-up to Glastonbury that he even claimed in an interview with Radio Times that it was costing him more to perform than he was getting paid. In reference to flying his own band and musicians to Worthy Farm for the evening, he asserted, “It’s going to cost me £300,000 to do it.” Additionally, they only give you around £120,000. I will therefore have to pay for it.
“I have to bring all my band back from America, of course Glastonbury don’t pay for that,” he previously stated to TalkSport. However, I would have done it even if it had cost me a million bucks. It’s a tremendous honor. It is truly the highest honor.
According to an article that appeared in The Independent last week, Glastonbury pays performers significantly less than other festivals. The Maggie May crooner also struck a deal with Glastonbury’s organizers, which allowed him to play for fifteen minutes longer than the typical “Legends” slot performers.
