The Walt Disney Company on Wednesday announced plans to add a seventh theme park to its Experiences portfolio, drawing mixed reactions online.

The new Disney resort is being planned for Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The island covers about 10 square miles and is home to several theme parks, including Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World.

 

“This is a thrilling moment for our company as we announce plans to build an exciting Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, whose culture is rich with an appreciation of the arts and creativity,” Bob Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, said in a press release.
