BREAKING NEWS:Rod Stewart’s outstanding performance at the festival propels him into the top ten.

 

On Friday, June 27, Rod Stewart released yet another compilation of some of his most popular songs, the simply-titled Ultimate Hits. The album dropped just days before he appeared at the Glastonbury Festival, where he performed on the same stage as Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo.

 

The mix of an exciting new project — even when packed with previously familiar tunes — and his festival performance help Stewart score another massive win in the United Kingdom this week.Ultimate Hits debuts on six tallies in the U.K. this week, opening inside not just the top 10, but the top five on all but one of them. Stewart returns to the uppermost region on the most competitive list of the most consumed full-lengths in the country, as Ultimate Hits opens at No. 5 on the Official Albums chart. The same collection comes in at No. 4 on the vinyl-only ranking and No. 3 on both the Official Album Sales and Official Physical Albums lists.

 

The compilation launches in nineteenth place on the roster of the most downloaded collections in the country and barely makes it onto the Official Albums Streaming chart, where it starts at No. 97.

 

Rod Stewart’s Chart History

Throughout his career, Stewart has reached the top 10 on several of these rosters numerous times, though the actual number of placements inside that region varies widely from one tally to the next. He’s accrued just four top 10s on the Official Vinyl Albums chart and 39 in total on the Official Albums list.

 

A Glastonbury Boost

Thanks largely to his showing at Glastonbury, several other projects by Stewart are growing in popularity in the U.K. Soulbook returns to the Official Album Downloads chart at No. 76, while Some Guys Have All the Luck shoots from No. 69 to No. 13 on the same tally. That position marks a new high point for the latter Stewart collection on the downloads-only ranking.
