SAD NEWS: Giants key playmaker Out Causing Serious Setback

As the NY Giants prepare to face the Seahawks this weekend, it’s a tough time for head coach Brian Daboll. He recently announced that Malik Nabers will not be available due to the concussion he sustained against the Cowboys in Week 4, which is a significant setback for the passing game.

Additionally, the Giants are likely to be without their starting running back, Devin Singletary. The veteran RB has been working to recover from a groin injury that caused him to miss some practice time. While there was hope he might be ready to play, he has now been listed as doubtful for Week 5.

NY Giants RB Devin Singletary is now doubtful to face the Seahawks

After star RB Saquon Barkley left in free agency to join the Philadelphia Eagles, general manager Joe Schoen signed Devin Singletary to a three-year deal. While Singletary has shown promise at times, accumulating 221 yards and two touchdowns, his fumbles against the Commanders and Browns have been difficult to watch.

With Singletary now unlikely to play, rookie fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr. is expected to handle the majority of the carries on Sunday. Second-year RB Eric Gray will also see some action, but Tracy is anticipated to take on the larger workload.

Gray made an impression in the preseason with two touchdown runs against the Lions, but aside from that, he hasn’t been a significant contributor to the team’s offense. Tracy, on the other hand, possesses impressive speed and reliable hands for catching passes out of the backfield, which will be crucial against the Seahawks’ defense.

The Giants are in a challenging situation: they need a win to salvage their season. Dropping to 1-4 would be a disaster and would hinder the progress of Daboll and his staff. With both Nabers officially ruled out and Singletary likely to miss the game, it feels increasingly difficult for the Giants to avoid that disheartening 1-4 record.
