LSU coach Brian Kelly stated that three injured starters are expected to return to practice ahead of the No. 13 Tigers’ matchup against No. 9 Ole Miss.
When asked on Monday about the status of freshman running back Caden Durham, senior wide receiver CJ Daniels, and senior cornerback Zy Alexander, Kelly confirmed they would practice.
According to SEC policy, LSU must release daily availability reports starting Wednesday night and a final report 90 minutes before Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. kickoff at Tiger Stadium.
Durham, who sustained a foot injury in LSU’s 42-10 victory over South Alabama, is LSU’s leading rusher this season with 244 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. In his first start, Durham amassed 217 total yards and two touchdowns on just 10 touches against South Alabama.
Daniels, LSU’s fourth-leading receiver with 20 catches for 239 yards, aggravated a previous knee injury last week. Kelly expressed relief that it wasn’t related to Daniels’ past ACL injury. “We got good reports on it,” Kelly said, noting it was a best-case scenario.
Alexander, who suffered a concussion on Sept. 21 in LSU’s 34-17 win over UCLA, has missed one game but had previously returned from a torn ACL. He has started twice this season.
