REPORT: Lamar Jackson 1 Unexpected Request To Jayden Daniels

The Baltimore Ravens’ offense is becoming increasingly difficult to defend, and Mark Andrews is once again a key contributor, with his relationship with Lamar Jackson back on track. After a recent victory, Jackson expressed admiration for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, telling him he wanted his jersey.

According to a post on X by Brandon, Jackson shared what he said to Daniels after the game: “I need that jersey.” He went on to praise the young quarterback, saying, “He’s definitely a great player. It’s just his sixth game, rookie year. The sky’s the limit for him.”

When informed that Daniels might want Jackson’s jersey in return, Jackson responded, “We’ll see. I’m definitely going to send it to him.”

Lamar Jackson delivered another impressive performance, completing 20 of 26 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing 11 times for 40 yards. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh praised Jackson’s performance, noting his success against man coverage.

“He was on point against man coverage,” Harbaugh said, according to baltimoreravens.com. “They were loading the box up against the run and playing a lot of man coverage, which they had not done much throughout the season. We had a lot of first- and second-down play-action passes. Guys like Zay (Flowers) were running crossing routes and sail routes, creating enough separation, and Lamar was able to deliver the ball accurately. Our guys made contested catches on the run and then made defenders miss after the catch.”

Meanwhile, rookie Jayden Daniels showed promise, completing 24 of 35 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns, along with six carries for 22 yards. Jackson had high praise for Daniels, stating, “He’s for real,” after the game.

Lamar Jackson had high praise for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, stating, “I believe he deserves all the hype he’s getting. He played a tremendous game out there. They just came up short. He’s been proving it. His rookie season — first six games, he’s been playing amazing.”

Jackson’s teammate, linebacker Roquan Smith, echoed the sentiment, expressing admiration for Daniels’ skills and toughness. “Washington is in good hands with him,” Smith said. “He’s the truth, for sure. He can run it, he can throw it — whatever you want — and for him to come into a hostile environment and perform the way he did, I’ve got much respect for him. He took some licks, too. I heard he was tough as nails, anyway, even from watching him in college, but he showed that. So, much respect and love for that guy.”

Smith highlighted the physicality Daniels endured, noting, “Just knowing that it’s a rookie quarterback, and you’ve got to lay the hits on him and try to affect him. Because most of the time, when you hit people in a nasty way, you definitely affect them. But the guy is tough as nails. He hopped right back up and kept it going. So, much respect to him, and hats off to him.”
