INJURY BLOW: More Bad News, Knicks Elite Star OUT Unlikely To Return

New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet left Tuesday’s preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets due to a right arm injury after making three appearances this season.

In the third quarter, Shamet appeared to hurt his right arm while attempting to deflect the ball on defense as a Hornets player went for a layup. He immediately went to the locker room in noticeable pain, according to Ian Begley on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Despite Shamet’s injury, the Knicks secured a 111-105 victory over the Hornets, with Shamet contributing eight points and two rebounds. The Knicks, along with the Golden State Warriors, remain the last unbeaten teams in the NBA preseason. Precious Achiuwa led the Knicks with an impressive 20 points and 16 rebounds.

Averaging 10.7 points per game over four appearances with the Knicks, Landry Shamet is anticipated to play a significant role for the team as they aim for success in the 2024-25 season. He has successfully knocked down at least two three-pointers in each game so far. With his impressive shooting ability and solid size for a combo guard at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, Shamet has proven to be a valuable addition to the Knicks during their undefeated preseason, and this performance is expected to carry over into the regular season.
