SAD NEWS: Bulldogs Lose Another Highly Rated Talented Star To Rival School

The remainder of the 2025 recruiting cycle is shaping up to be a significant success for Georgia football. They already boast a top-five class nationally, and it seems likely that this could improve further in the coming days.

Kirby Smart and his staff are on the verge of securing the top defensive lineman in the country later this week, along with some recruits who may flip to the Bulldogs. However, one recruit who previously seemed to be leaning toward Georgia is now reportedly considering a different school.

Kevin Wynn, a four-star defensive lineman from Greensboro, GA, is ranked No. 156 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings, as well as the No. 21 defensive lineman in the country and the 20th-ranked player from Georgia.

Wynn has been committed to Florida State since late June, but he had shown interest in other programs. Just last week, he mentioned that Georgia was a potential option. However, it appears that USC is now the frontrunner, according to Josh Newberg of On3.

While losing Wynn wouldn’t be a devastating blow for Georgia, it would still be disappointing. He is a highly talented player, and UGA is likely to recruit five or six defensive linemen in this class, making him a prime candidate. Additionally, his status as a Georgia native adds to the sting of a potential loss.

That said, this isn’t a cause for panic. Georgia’s recruiting class remains strong, and they are also in contention for other highly ranked linemen. With some optimism, fans can hope that Smart and his staff will secure those recruits so that this potential loss doesn’t significantly impact the program.
