The Miami Dolphins announced on Wednesday that they have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Tarik Black to their practice squad. This move comes after the Steelers waived Black in August due to a hamstring injury he sustained during one of their final training camp sessions.
Black had initially been brought on by the Steelers following a high ankle sprain suffered by rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson. Unfortunately, just as Black began to rise on the depth chart, he incurred his own injury, which effectively ended his chances of making the roster or securing a spot on the practice squad in Pittsburgh.
A former Michigan standout, Black began his career with the Baltimore Ravens, participating in their training camp and practice squad but was unable to secure a significant role. He now joins the Dolphins, who are set to welcome back quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after his recent absence due to a concussion.
