The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for their biggest game of the 2024 season as they prepare to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Riding a five-game winning streak, the Bills appear to have hit their stride on both offense and defense. Despite this momentum, speculation persists about potential roster upgrades.
One name that continues to surface is former Bills safety Micah Hyde. A seven-year veteran with the team, Hyde departed in free agency this past offseason and remains unsigned. During a recent press conference, quarterback Josh Allen was asked about the possibility of bringing the All-Pro safety back to Buffalo.
“I’ve talked with him a little bit, checked in with him,” Allen said. “Love that guy. I don’t know what you want me to say there. I think our guys, especially on the defensive side of the ball, are playing really fantastic football right now. But if there was an opportunity to have him back, I think everybody in this locker room would welcome him with open arms.”
In his seven seasons with Buffalo, Hyde earned two second-team All-Pro honors and one Pro Bowl selection, establishing himself as a key piece of the defense. This season, the Bills have primarily relied on Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin at safety, but adding depth to the secondary could bolster the team’s championship aspirations.
