The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for a crucial matchup against the San Francisco 49ers after their bye week. With a 9-2 record, the Bills are in an excellent position to continue their strong season. On the other hand, the 49ers, who were just one overtime score away from a Super Bowl appearance last season, are struggling at 5-6 this year. Injuries have played a significant role in their downturn, with quarterback Brock Purdy missing the team’s last game due to a shoulder injury. In Purdy’s absence, backup Brandon Allen started, but the 49ers only managed to score once in their 38-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers. However, coach Kyle Shanahan reported on Monday that Purdy had done some light throwing without issue, offering hope for his potential return.
Coach Kyle Shanahan provided an update on Brock Purdy’s shoulder injury, saying, “It went all good. We didn’t push it that hard, but he did some light throwing, which was a good sign that the pain hadn’t come back, and we’ll rest it tomorrow and see how he feels as the week goes.” If Purdy is able to play, it will be a crucial boost for the 49ers in their “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Buffalo Bills, as they are in desperate need of a win. If Brandon Allen starts in place of Purdy, the Bills’ defense may have an easier time, especially as the 49ers continue to work on getting star running back Christian McCaffrey back to peak form. A victory for the Bills would keep them within striking distance of the Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC with only five games left in the season.
