The Alabama Crimson Tide are entering the 2025 offseason after their first year under head coach Kalen DeBoer. Despite a 9-4 record and a 19-13 loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the program received some positive news regarding one of their top defensive players, LT Overton. Overton announced on social media that he will be returning for his senior season. “This is just the beginning,” Overton wrote on New Year’s Day. “2025 will be a time for action. This is my official announcement. I am returning for my senior year. Roll Tide, Roll!” Overton had a solid 2024 season with one forced fumble, two sacks, and 42 tackles. Before joining Alabama, he played for the Texas A&M Aggies in 2022 and 2023, recording one sack and 48 tackles.
Overton committed to the Aggies as a five-star prospect out of high school, ranking as the nation’s No. 4 defensive lineman and No. 14 overall athlete, according to 247Sports. The Georgia native was aggressively sought by strong institutions around the country, including Georgia, Oregon, Clemson, Auburn, and Kentucky.
