SHOCK!!! Mets Pitcher Betray New York For $13 Million Deal

In 2024, the New York Mets relied on a starting rotation that included reclamation projects like Sean Manaea, Luis Severino, and Jose Quintana. While Severino has already moved on, Quintana remains a free agent. According to Ryan Finkelstein of Just Baseball, Quintana is likely to leave the Mets, predicting he will sign a one-year, $13 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Finkelstein notes that Quintana, 35, showed flashes of brilliance last season despite some rough patches. While he posted a 7.20 ERA in five starts during May and a 5.63 ERA in six starts in August, he bounced back impressively. His final stretch of the 2024 season was particularly strong, as he finished with an MLB-best 0.74 ERA across his last six starts.

For the Blue Jays, who have missed out on top free-agent targets like Juan Soto and Corbin Burnes, adding Quintana could provide some much-needed stability in their rotation. While starting pitching may not be their top priority, Quintana could serve as a reliable veteran presence to anchor their staff. Although not the flashiest addition, he could help solidify their pitching depth for the upcoming season.
