Just over two weeks have passed since Virginia Tech wrapped up its football season with a 24-10 loss to Minnesota in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on January 3. Despite a disappointing 6-7 record in 2024, which fell short of preseason expectations, head coach Brent Pry expressed optimism about the program’s direction heading into 2025.
Following their Thanksgiving Weekend victory over Virginia to secure bowl eligibility, the Hokies have experienced significant changes to both the coaching staff and roster. Several key players from last season have either entered the transfer portal or declared for the NFL Draft. To address these departures, Virginia Tech has brought in 20 transfer players along with a number of early-enrolling freshmen.
