LSU football is currently focused on shaping its roster and depth chart for the 2025 season, but planning for the future remains a constant priority.
While the NIL era and transfer portal have significantly impacted college football, strong recruiting—especially within the home state—remains crucial for sustained success. On Saturday, the Tigers secured a major win when elite wide receiver and top in-state prospect Jabari Mack committed to staying home and playing for LSU.
“The best in the boot, stay in the boot,” Mack said.

This is a major pickup for Brian Kelly and his staff, as Mack was a highly coveted prospect. LSU won his commitment over top programs like Texas, Texas A&M, and defending national champion Ohio State. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Mack is the No. 4 prospect in Louisiana, the No. 10 wide receiver, and the No. 64 overall player in the 2026 class.
Mack adds to an already loaded 2026 recruiting class for LSU, which currently ranks No. 3 in the nation. Wide receiver has been a key focus, with four of the Tigers’ nine commits playing the position. Leading the class is 5-star recruit Tristen Keys, the No. 1 receiver and No. 4 overall player in the country.
