The North Carolina Tar Heels, known for their rich college basketball history, had a disappointing 2024-25 season. Although they made the men’s NCAA Tournament by beating San Diego State in the First Four round, they were eliminated in their first tournament game, falling 71-64 to Ole Miss. Seth Trimble, a junior guard from Wisconsin, played 27 minutes off the bench in that loss, contributing nine points, four rebounds, and one steal. He has since announced that he will return to Chapel Hill for the 2025-26 season.
Seth Trimble has steadily increased his contributions during his time with the Tar Heels. In the 2024-25 season, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 assists per game. Additionally, he made notable strides in his free throw shooting, improving his accuracy to 82.1%.

With Davis moving on to the NBA and a few other players entering the transfer portal, having Seth Trimble return is a significant boost for North Carolina. Known for his excellent athleticism and quickness, Trimble often provides a spark for the Tar Heels, especially on the defensive side of the court. His return will help stabilize the backcourt and keep the team competitive moving forward.
